 Message from the Principal

10/3/14 - updated 10/21/14

Dear Student and Parents:

As I write this newsletter this morning it is 42 degrees and windy outside my office.  It may be safe to say that Fall has officially arrived!  With the change in weather we want to remind parents and students to dress appropriately for school each day.  Even though the weather is cooler, we still may try to do some things outside before the weather really turns nasty.  After October 15 we ask that students not wear shorts to school again until April 1.  We will adjust those dates as needed throughout the fall months and any changes will be announced to students in school.

Over the past few weeks we have begun using an online reading program, Reading Plus, to supplement our reading classes in the middle school. Time is scheduled during the school day for students to access the program but feel free to encourage your child to use the the program at home.  The goal of the program is to help students with comprehension, vocabulary development, and to improve reading rate in a silent reading situation.  Improving these facets of silent reading can have a positive impact on a child's ability to become a life-long learner.

Below are the basic login steps.  You child has a unique username and password.  You may contact Mr. Allison or their Reading teacher if your child wants access at home but forgot their login information.

How to Log In:

  • Step 1 - Go to login.readingplus.com
  • Step 2 - Press the Student Login button
  • Step 3 - Enter Site Code: rplennoxmid
  • Step 4 - Type Username:
