The Lennox School Board is excited to announce the appointment of Adam Shaw as the new Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Shaw will begin his role on July 1, 2025.
Adam Shaw brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership having served in various administrative roles. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success, community engagement, and fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation. With a proven track record of driving academic excellence and a deep understanding of the needs of diverse student populations, we are confident that Mr. Shaw will be a valuable asset to our district.
Born and raised in Rochester, New York, new Lennox Superintendent Adam Shaw graduated from high school in 1995. He pursued higher education at Dakota State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with a middle school endorsement. Mr. Shaw also played football for the Trojans from 1995-1999. His teaching and coaching career began in Flandreau, where he taught from 2000 to 2006. Mr. Shaw furthered his education during this period by obtaining two master's degrees from the University of Sioux Falls, one in school administration and one in technology integration.
Mr. Shaw’s commitment to education led him to Marion, South Dakota, where he assumed the role of high school principal. Desiring to enhance his expertise and expand his leadership, he pursued and earned a post-graduate Education Specialist degree. This achievement paved the way for his appointment as superintendent of Marion Schools, where he also took on the additional role of Special Education Director.
Eager to return to Madison and give back to the community where he began his adulthood, Mr. Shaw accepted the position of High School Principal for the Madison Central School District in 2013. During his 12-year tenure in Madison, he was intentional in his leadership focusing on the whole child. Career Technical Education is a passion of Mr. Shaw’s, and he led a major CTE initiative that enhanced CTE offerings for the students at Madison High School.
Throughout his career, Mr. Shaw has developed a strong foundation in leadership, shaped by the values his father and grandfather instilled in him. "They taught me the value of work ethic, hard work, and that there is no easy route". His passion for leadership, love of kids, and building relationships are the three focus areas that drive him every day. Mr. Shaw is looking forward to meeting with the staff, students, and community over the next few months as we get ready for the 2025-2026 school year.
Mr. Shaw and his wife, Kate, have three children. Brandon, an electrician, is 24 and is married to Kenna, who is a nurse at Sanford, and they have a son Wesley. McKenna is 20 and attends Southeast Technical College, and Daveney is 18 and will graduate in May.
