Our 8th grade girls attended "Women in Science" on Monday at Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls.
Fourth grade had a field trip to the Water Festival at USF. Our three classes went to explore and learn about how water affects our lives, how humans affect the water, and how important water is to all living things.

Dr. Randy Houska, a local dentist, visited Mrs. Bartscher's kindergarten class about taking care of their teeth. The students loved having a special guest, especially Watson, Randy's grandson.

Our school celebrated reading this last week. Students had fun with special dress-up days and fourth graders read information about Dr. Seuss and his books over the intercom.
The Speech and Debate Team finished in 4th place as a team at State.
Noah Sayler placed 6th in original oratory.
McKenzie Ritenour was a quarterfinalist in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.
Gunnar Geiken placed 2nd in International Extemp and is the State Champion in LD debate.
Several LHS students attended Scrubs Camp at USD this week.
Last week was busy for band! The JH and HS jazz bands competed in the Augie Jazz Fest. The high school hosted the regional solo and ensemble contest, and also participated in the Brandon Honor Band. To finish off the week, they attended Middle School All-State Band.
Braylon Plucker went to the Junior High LDE event and placed 2nd in Creed Speaking. Great job Braylon!

The National Speech & Debate Association recently announced Mr. Michael Larson as a winner of the Diamond Coach Award. Mr. Larson is recognized for his excellence and longevity in speech and debate education. Congratulations Mr. Larson!

Tonight, the Lady O's will take on the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers in Harrisburg at 7:00 PM in the SoDak 16. The winner will advance to the state tournament in Watertown March 9-11. Good Luck Lady O's!
