I would like to welcome everyone to the
2020-2021 school year! This has
definitely been a trying time in our world, and we hope the start of a new school year makes everything better.
Our goal is to provide
skills needed to challenge students to be more successful in school both academically and emotionally. Lennox Elementary/LWC Intermediate
will provide lessons to help students be safe, responsible, and respectful at
home, at school, and in their community. We will also provide opportunities for
students to make
Along with our regular curriculum, we
will continue to utilize individual online programs for students in grades K-6.
In grades K-2, Reading Eggs and Mathseeds will be utilized and in grades 3-6,
we will continue to use Exact Path. All three are individualized computer
program that push students in content areas they excel in, and help in weak
areas according to the NWEA formative assessment we give three times a year.
4th grade has joined 2nd
and 3rd grade in implementing Walk to Read. This philosophy
meets students where they are in their reading. Staff will be able to hone in
on strengths and weaknesses for student growth. Students may move to another classroom in their grade level depending on
their needs. We will continue to analyze its effectiveness and possibly add
another grade level next school year.
Finally, we are extremely excited to
be opening the first phase of our new elementary addition. Included in the addition are classrooms, a playground, and a
new library. We have also remodeled some
rooms including a new entry, a new office area, remodeled bathrooms, and a new
staff workroom. These are exciting times
for our elementary students and staff. The second phase will include more classrooms, a playground designed for lower elementary students, and a new bus drop-off.
