Weekly Update for Lennox JH and HS

Good afternoon Lennox JH-HS Students, Parents and Guardians:
The 2023-24 School year is only a few weeks away. We hope you have enjoyed your summer break!
On Friday afternoons during the school year, I will send out an email with details about the upcoming week at the Junior High and High School. There are a few items I would like to highlight prior to the school year.
Open House
Our open house is scheduled for Monday, August 21, from 5-7 pm. Students will receive their class schedules, lockers (grades 7-9) and you will have the chance to meet your teachers. Students in grades 10-12 will be able to sign up for a locker if they want to have one. Grades 10 and 11 sign up with your SRB teacher, Grade 12 sign up in the office.
Dual Credit
The start of school is just around the corner and that means that students enrolled in dual credit classes will begin even sooner than that! Most Dual Credit Courses start on August 21. Since this is before the Lennox School District Start date, we would like to offer students taking dual credit courses the opportunity to pick up their school laptop early so that they can log in to their courses and begin working when the course begins. School Laptops for Dual Credit enrolled students will be available August 21 from 10-2 PM and at Open House that evening. If the tech office is not available, the Front Office staff should be able to help check out the laptop for your student.
Schedule Changes for HS Students
Please stop in the office if you need to make schedule changes. Mr. Allison will be available to make schedule changes on August 14-17 during office hours. All schedule changes for first semester must be completed by August 25.
Picture Retake Day
If you missed our District Registration Day last week or want a picture retaken, Scherling Photography will be back on the morning of September 13th to do picture retakes.
Daily Attendance
Please be sure to call the JH-HS office if your student will be late, needs to leave early or will be gone for the entire day due to illness, appointments, etc. Darci Granum – Attendance Secretary – 647-2203 (ext. 5001). Darci.granum@k12.sd.us
From the Tech Department
Parents wanting access to Campus to check grades should contact Dawn.Timmerman@k12.sd.us for their username/password.
Student Cell Phone Use During the School Day
Students may use personal phones during lunch, between classes, and before or after school. Cell phones may not be used during class, SRB, or study halls. Phones will be confiscated for the class period or remainder of school day if in violation.
Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast is served daily from 7:45-8:10. Free/Reduced lunch applications are available on the school website.
