Good afternoon Lennox JH-HS Students, Parents and Guardians:
Thanksgiving Break - Early Dismissal on Wednesday, November 27.
No School on November 28 and 29.
After School Study Sessions from 3:30-4:30 pm on most Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursdays of each week.
JA Inspire 8 th grade students will be attending the JA Inspire event at the Sioux Falls Convention Center on November 19th from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. JA Inspire is more than a career fair. It brings together the business community and local schools and is designed to help launch middle school students into their future - high school, postsecondary education, and careers beyond. The program consists of three segments: (1) pre-event career-oriented sessions (led by Mr. Sattler); (2) the JA Inspire event, and (3) a post-event reflection.
High School Winter Formal will be held on December 7th. Tickets can be purchased from Darci in the front office. Tickets are $10 each.
LHS parents: If you are upgrading your Christmas tree, the winter formal committee would like to take your old one off your hands. Contact Mrs. Thill to make arrangements. See page 5
Seniors – NCRC Exam - This year all Lennox High School Seniors will be taking the NCRC exam on Wednesday, November 27. Students will take 3 exams (Applied Math, Reading for Information, and Locating Information). The National Career Readiness Certificate ((National Career Readiness Certificate) is an industry-recognized, portable, evidence-based credential that certifies skills necessary for workplace success. Testing will start at 8:15 and be completed by Noon.
Juniors: The Junior Achievement: Excellence thru Ethics program will be here to speak to Juniors in their classes on Wednesday, December 4, from 10:15-11:15am. Local business professional will be discussing the importance of ethics in the workplace and everyday life.

College application and scholarship season is right around the corner. Now is a great time to visit college campuses and narrow down the list of potential tech schools/universities. The free application period for South Dakota schools begins October 1st and runs through November 30th. I highly recommend beginning to look at scholarships through any business you utilize as a customer as well as my curated list here: https://tinyurl.com/2s3hj3hu
Spring Dual Credit Enrollment begins November 1st - If you are a Junior or Senior student interested in taking dual credit courses in the Spring, contact Mr. Breske for information and details on how to sign up. Students should be prepared to register on November 1 st to ensure a spot in the course they wish.
CNA Classes (Certified Nurse Assistant) will be offered again this spring semester for Juniors and Seniors planning to enter the Health Care field. See Mr. Breske for more information. Class size is limited to 8. There are several prerequisites that need to be completed prior to classes starting so act early if you are interested.
NHS students: We will be tying blankets in just a few weeks. Now would be a great time to purchase fleece. You will need 2 yards each of 2 coordinating colors/patterns. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Thill. We will be tying blankets during 4th and 5th period on Monday, December 2nd. Please remember to bring your fleece and a scissors. At 1:20 we will be traveling to the nursing home in Marion to play Bingo with the residents. Please contact Mrs. Thill if you would like to help furnish prizes.
Looking ahead: NHS will be serving at The Banquet on January 13th from 4:14 - 8:30. Students, please plan accordingly.
