Good afternoon Lennox JH-HS Students, Parents and Guardians:
Daily Attendance
Please be sure to call the JH-HS office if your student will be late, needs to leave early or will be gone for the entire day due to illness, appointments, etc. Darci Granum – Attendance Secretary – 647-2203 (ext. 5001)
Saturday School – October 15
We will have Saturday School from 9-11am on October 15, for students with 5 or more missing assignments.
Free, online tutoring available for K-12 students. South Dakota students and families can access a new, online tutoring program, staffed by college students who are preparing to become teachers. The Dakota Dreams Online Tutoring Program offers FREE online tutoring to K-12 students across the state. One-on-one tutoring sessions can help students with their homework, tackle specific trouble areas, and address broader educational concepts. Please note: In order to access the service, parents or guardians must register their students, not the school.
Senior Graduation and Sophomore Class Ring
Sophomore Class Rings and Senior Graduation orders can be placed on the Jostens website: Lennox High School | Jostens
8th Grade – JA Inspire Event – November 15 – Sioux Falls Convention Center - 12-3pm - JA Inspire | Junior Achievement of South Dakota
All 8th graders will be attending the JA Inspire event in Sioux Falls in a few weeks. They will be exploring careers in the weeks leading up to this field trip. JA Inspire is a collaboration between educators and industry leaders led by Junior Achievement of South Dakota. JA Inspire is a career-based event filled with learning experiences that are designed by individual industry teams to align with what the industry will need from its future employees.
Home Events: All students are asked to sit in the stands/bleachers and cheer for the Lennox Orioles.
ACT Prep Classes
Session 2 will be on October 23 from 1-5pm.
Student Flu Shots – see pages 2-4 for the sign-up form. Turn forms into your school office.
The South Dakota Department of Health will be administering free flu shots to students in grades preschool -12th grade in the morning on Wednesday, October 19th at the following locations:
Lennox Elementary/Intermediate- 8:00-10:00
Worthing Elementary- 9:00-10:00
Junior High/High School- 10:30-12:00
ASVAB
This is also an optional test. Are you interested in the military? The ASVAB is the perfect way to see what kind of jobs you could qualify for if you entered the military. It is also a great way to gain knowledge about student’s interests and skills to help match you with a career choice after high school. We will be administering the ASVAB on October 28th at 8:30 AM. Please sign up with Mr. Breske. The Deadline to sign up is October 21st.
SD College Access Campaign (October 3rd – November 30th)
Senior Students’ application fees are waived during this period to any South Dakota College or Tech School.
School Counselor Update: Mr. Breske now has a fully functional website that includes important information regarding Dual Credit, Scholarships, College Visits and more.
